Photographer's Note

The opera of Rennes is one of the most beautiful monuments of the town. It faces the townhall. One can imagine by an aerial view those two monuments fit together ! This is the perfection of classic art... Nothing compared to the apparent anarchy of medieval lanes !

The palm trees are part of the summer show of the Townhall square. Lots of entertainments take place in this high place of Rennes's activity.

First and foremost for very personal and special reasons I love the title which fits the photo very well.
This is a great composition, you capture the heat well. I like the texture of the photo. The colors are great.

J'aime beaucoup cette prise de vue, particulièrement sa mise en forme avec ce côté léger flou artistique en partie haute, cela donne une force à l'image. De plus, j'aime ce côté très doux de l'ensemble. Le léger grain que l'on distingue est également un très bon point.

Salut David. A nice presentation of the Opera House, well composed with a good inclusion of the palmtrees as they are placed inside the super-size flowerpots. Also good how the pedestrians are included to add life to this vivid and colorful shot. Thanks for providing this entry for my "song title" theme.

This picture invites me to smoke a nice long pipe; but I quit on the 5th of may!
I want to say that you succeeded in showing the greatness and quietness of this place. People are not hurrying, people here have time and enjoy.
In a way you wiped out some overexposure in the top; I think the effect is good. The day is still hot.

Wow David, what an impressive place! Also impressive is the way the sun is interacting in the shot. In addition the people bring the shot to life and add the all important scale. Excellent shot David!

Jolie point de vue, je ne connais pas rennes, mais la ville a l'air tres jolie, et en plus tu as le droit a un ciel magnifique, c'est drole il ya comme un effet soft dans ton cliché. c'est agreable.

Thats a fine example of French architecture. I like the use of those pastels and the use of palm trees to really give that kind of tropical touch to the area. The bright top also gives us the idea of heat and bright sun. Thatsa nice photo David.

Très jolie composition de notre Opéra. Tu lui as donné un petit air méditerranéen, très sympa. C'est superbe ce flou, dans tes photos, tu peux expliquer à la prochaine photo ? ou c'est un secret ? C'est une très grande photo.

J'aime bie le coté "dreamy" de la photo pour ce monument.
la compo est bien appuyée sur la perspective des deux palmiers, (ils auraient pu mettre des pommiers:))) et c'est une belle facade.

Another nice shot david, again we have a slight glazed effect Strange to see it with the sky semeingly so clear! Not a bad effect though I like it!

Hi David,
This photo has some ephemeral quality that is hard to describe, but it is very effective. Although the contrast is not the best, the shot is stunning in its own way and is most representative of a warm summer day. I like the pastel colours, the foreground balance with the palms, and the dynamism of the people strolling. Finally, the building is displayed from an excellent POV with great clarity. A most satisfying well rendered shot.

j'aime bcp cet effet flou et un peu mis en scene que tu as donne a cette image. La scnee est tres bien cadree, pas evident de shooter des monument. La lumiere est bonne et l'ajout des palmiers au premier plan est un bon plus
