Photographer's Note
The colchicine extracted from this plant, Autumn Colchicum would be effective against Covid 19 and would avoid the complications of the disease ... surprising, isn't it? In any case, it is a hope according to Canadian researchers who have just published a study whose conclusions would go in this direction, to follow ...
Colchicine, whose anti-inflammatory power is well known (treatment of rheumatism attacks such as gout) comes from these very common plants and flowers, here in the photo framed this fall in the high meadows in the Pyrenees.
We can dream and hope ... but the best protection against Covid 19 to date remains vaccination.

Beautiful flowers on the green hills of the wonderful landscape.
I personally believe that some cure from nature will be found and will be effective against the virus. Still thing have to be discovered and scientifically proved.

Hello Jean, Beautiful view of these flowers that are so similar to crocuses but blossom in autumn. Wonderful pictures.
As to vaccines. In Poland, the registration has started for seniors 70+. I wanted to register but after a few hours, the supply of vaccine has finished and they do not know when they will come.
Best regards MAlgo

Hello Jean,
It would be wonderful if this pretty flower could work wonders! I know there are farms in England which grow a particular type of crocus to extract saffron. The saffron can only be obtained from the stigma of the pant so it takes hundreds of plants to gather a gram of saffron. Hence, it is very expensive!
I like how you have combined the close-up of the crocus with its natural habitat.
Have a good week,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Jean,
Un médicament qui a été testé dans un Institut de recherche au Canada qui diminue les effets de la COVID 19. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des fleurs et des montagnes. La lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hi Jean,
Effective or not, they certainly are beautiful. And they flower in October, when other flowers are already gone. Good combinations showing both closeup and the usual environment where they grow.

Hi Jean
A good pair of photos of the crocus flowers. Some many medicines do have an origin in natural sources so it would be good if this one could be further developed.
cheers

Bonjour Jean,
This plant is also found in the Netherlands and is called Herfsttijloos here. This name refers to not having any leaves at the time of flowering.
The possible medicinal effect is mentioned, but caution is advised because the plant is also toxid. For fighting Covid, I agree with you and we better rely on the vaccine. I've to wait another month before it is my turn.
Excellent presentation
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Sometimes solutions are simple and right under our noses but it still takes a while to see them. Let's hope that this plant helps with a safe vaccine for Covid. Tfs!

Bonjour Jean,
