Castle walls of Yèvre , architecture built in the 10th century
Around 1200, by order of Philip Auguste, the castle was rebuilt according to the latest developments of the reported military architecture of the Crusades.
At the end of the fifteenth century, due to the extension of the royal domain and the progress of artillery that made its defenses obsolete, the castle lost its importance and its role as stronghold.
