Photographer's Note

Decided to go a little “retro” with today’s choice, this was taken back when a graduated filter was actually mounted in front of the camera lens to create such an effect. Now I have to admit, I did use a bit of post processing to help bring out some of the darkened areas, otherwise it would have been nothing but sky and water.

Marseille is undoubtedly one of my favorite cities in France. It’s raw, gritty and has a completely different feel than the rest of the country. This photo features two of the cities most recognizable and iconic locations; Vieux Port in the foreground and Notre Dame de la Garde, which is situated at the highest natural point in Marseille.
