Photographer's Note

La Galerie du Château de Chenonceau est longue de 60 mètres, large de 6 mètres et éclairée de 18 fenêtres. Elle possède un plafond à solives apparentes et un sol carrelé de tuffeau et d'ardoise qui en font une magnifique salle de bal.

Elle fut inaugurée en 1577 lors de fêtes données par Catherine de Médicis en l'honneur de son fils le Roi Henri III.

On peut lire dans la galerie une plaque avec le message suivant : Ici furent soignés 2254 blessés pendant la guerre 1914-1918.

a beautiful graphic scene!
bravo!
the graphical effect on our eyes are so strong!
especially when the photo is moved up and down the screen.
I understand about the difficult nature in lining up the corners at the top - hard to do isn't it!
Love the lines, shapes and geometry.

Salut Diane!

Le lieu a un fort grâce graphiques pour le jeu qui donne la conception du sol et son contraste avec le toit, la volonté des gens de la scène ressemble à celle d'une composition dans les peintures à l'huile plus traditionnelles, en aidant à composer le image et donner une idée de la taille et la profondeur ... du très bon travail!

fantastic pavement, it reminds me Op Art style from sixties. Great effect of moving when the screen goes up and down. Interesting scenes and a fine depth. Excellent composition. Amazing work

Stunning and beautiful shot of this corridor, when i visited this castle i saw in this corridor an exposition of Bargalló, i'll never forget my visit. You have got a unique atmopshere and a superb light. Bravo!

Bonjour Diane,

Il y a beaucoup de lignes droites dans cette image et l'effet graphique est excellent. La distance sur le carrelage donne beaucoup de profondeur. L'animation par les personnes donne beaucoup de vie à l'ensemble.

The architecture lends itself to creating a good depth, and you have used it well by filling the room with a lot of people and activity. They make the picture very interesting to watch. Also the light is very good.

Strong sense of compostion in this shot, indeed the graphic qualities are what drew me to the thumbnail. I like the sense of depth given by the lead-lines, and the people make it more than a straight architectural record. Good work.

Hi Diane,

a great photo of this place. Love the geometrical aspect here with the b&W squares on the floor, the lines on the roof and the columns on the sides. The people add a nice touch too!
