Photographer's Note

Le Château de Duras has seen a tumultuous history. Transformed from a ducal castle to a fortress during the 100y. war, it's rooms have been visited by English and French alike. Finally loosing it's military value, it transforms again to a site of pleasure 'till the French Revolution sounding the end of an era. Nearly lost for ever, it was rescued by the inhabitants of the surrounding town of Duras.
