Photographer's Note

Saint Martin de Ré is a French commune , located on the Ile de Re , capital of the Canton of St. Martin de Re , part of the Borough of La Rochelle in the department of Charente- Maritime and region Poitou-Charentes .

The inhabitants are the Martinais.

With many fortifications designed by Vauban (citadel, walls, guard), the city is built into the Network of Major Vauban Sites and on the list of World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 7th July 2008.

Saint Martin de Ré is a small town fortified by Vauban located on the north coast of the Ile de Ré , opposite the Perth Breton.
This is one of the marinas, with a wet dock , the largest of the island with Ars-en-Re .

The coast is lined with small cliffs and shingle beach with a little artificial.

This is the main administrative center of the island of Ré , being both the seat of the community of communes of the Ile de Ré and the Country of the Ile de Re .
Due to its location on the coastline and its rich urban heritage, Saint-Martin-de-Re is also a very attractive tourist center on the island of Ré (Tourist office, museum, restaurants and many hotels, campsites, ...).
