The commune of Augé, rural district of 806 inhabitants, is located at the North-East of Niort (26 km) and 8 km of Saint-Maixent-L'Ecole. This position between two "poles of employment" confers to him a certain attractivity, reinforced by architectural and landscape qualities of the borough and the commune (landscape entity of between plain and Gâtine). Augé extends on a surface from 2 333 hectares. Augéens and Augéennes live in the borough for about half of them and the others set out again in the large hamlets located at the four cardinal points
