The peaceful village of Augé and its fortified parochial church, Saint Grégoire of 11th 13th century, Romanesque, the choir of which was reconstructed according to the Gothic style from Anjou in the 13th century. Registered on historic monuments in 1914 and 2003.

AUGÉ, is a French municipality, located in the department of Deux-Sèvres of the Poitou-Charentes area, populated of 913 Augéens in 2007 , distributed on 23.3 km², that is to say 39.18 hab/km².

Every year, the 3rd weekend of January, The municipality organizes a traditional and pleasant mulled wine fair the origin of which goes back up to the Middle Ages.

The municipality of Augé is not away from the SÈVRE NIORTAISE river, and is a member of the community of municipality Arc en Sèvre.

_ The SÈVRE NIORTAISE river is a coastal river, which takes its source in the commune of Sepvret in the departement of Deux-Sèvres, close to Les Grandes-Fontaines hamlet, at 152 meters of altitude. It crosses Niort, then goes down in the MARAIS POITEVIN, marsh of Poitou, which it feeds, before throwing in the Atlantic Ocean in the Anse de l'Aiguillon, after a course of 158.1 km and the crossing of a catchment area of 3650 km², with a average flow of 44.4 m³/s. the Sèvre Niortaise and Sèvre Nantaise rivers, gave their name to the department of Deux-Sèvres.
