Tower "Tour du Fer à Cheval", Nantes

In the city of Nantes, the "Tour du Fer à Cheval", "horseshoe tower" with thick walls 8 meters, from of the end of 15th century and early 16th century, in the Castle of Dukes of Brittany, also says castle of Anne of Brittany, 13th 14th 15th 16th centuries. Classified as "Historic Monument" since 1840.

Guy de thouars, ?-1213, built here in the 13th century the beginnings of the castle under the shape of a circular tower.
Jean IV de Bretagne, 1339-1399, added several polygonales towers in the 14th century.
François II de Bretagne, 1433-1488, reconstructed the castle in the 15th century.
Anne de Bretagne, 1477-1514, will continue the transformations till the beginning of the 16th century.
Different modifications of military inspiration, followed by the 16th to the 20th century.
