Photographer's Note

An old street in the little town of Montsoreau.

Montsoreau is a commune in the Maine and Loire département, in Western France.

With a population around 550, it stands on the bank of one of France's major rivers the Loire. The château, which can be seen towards the left of the image was built to protect the river traffic. Although most notable for its château, the village is also classed as one of the finest villages in France as well as one of the small towns of character in the département.
