Photographer's Note

End of day light on L'Observatoire in Lavau-sur-Loire on the north side of river Loire estuary between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire. This observatory is one of the perennial artworks of contemporary art openair exposure Estuaire that took place along river Loire esturay in 2007, 2009 and 2012. L'observatoire was built for the first edition in 2007 and was completed in 2009. The japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, who lives and works in Paris and Tokyo, imagined footpaths in wood in the meadows and reedbeds of river Loire estuary. It allows visitors to experience a true immersion in nature. The footpaths lead to to a tower where you have a panorama on the estuary. This was one of the Estuaire workarts I had not seen yet but I was wrong because there was a unique atmosphere when I was there at sunset. I loved it !
