Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Please click on Medieval Walls of Guerande to see the photograph much larger and clearer.

This is a view showing the mighty, city walls which surround the medieval city of Guerande. They are all still perfectly intact. (For details of the history of Guerande please see my previous post here .)

You will also, be able to see the moat which surrounds the walls. The moat is full of fish which I think are carp but they act more like piranhas! When anyone throws in some food, the water becomes a writhing mass of bodies! I will add a workshop to illustrate what I mean.

Guerande is a wonderfully unspoilt city. History is evident everywhere from the strong protective walls to the narrow cobbled streets.

Again, the weather was not on my side but that has been the story for much of summer! You just have to cope with what is there, and I didn't want to miss sharing this amazing, ancient city with you all.

Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)
