Photographer's Note

View on port of Moguériec at low tide, in Sibiril, in heart of Leon in the north of Finistère. It is a not very known place in Brittany, but it really worths going there. The landscapes are very beautiful, in particular long beaches that take nice colours when the weather is sunny. It is not far from Roscoff, Isle of Batz or Saint-Pol-de-Léon. From 2002 Moquériec hosts a curious competition : periwinkles spit world championships ! The thrower takes a periwinkle in his mouth and has to puff it to the longest distance. Record is hold from 2006 edition by a french man, Alain Jourden, who is the world champion. He spitted a periwinkle to 10.41 meters ! Maybe one day this competition will be broadcasted by TV ?
