Photographer's Note

Bonjour Denis.
This shot seems very old. It's a good idea and you've done a great job making it look old. The scene could be from hundreds, maybe thousands of years ago as well as today. However, this angle fits well and maybe ths is a good illustration of what's still the daily life for someone.

Hello Denis,
A lovely nostalgic image depicting a time when life was much less hectic and people had time to think. Thanks for sharing.

Bonjour Denis,

Bien amicalement

Hello
Wonderful picture in retro style, as if removed from the archive. Great sepia, very good that you have added noise, this causes the image appears to be older. Excellent topic and great job.

hmmmm, I read the other critiques before I framed my own. Sepia doesn't suggest "old" to me so much, it suggests slogging and heavy work. It's just perfect on this lovely, crisp and clear photograph. The stark, plain sky emphasizes the foreground. I'm guessing this is harvesting of seaweed which is still done this way on Prince Edward Island. Fascinating. Congratulations on a great photo.

Wow, Denis! This looks as if it might have been taken a century ago -- not just decades. It would be nice to see more of this sort of return to more sustainable ways of life. Anyway, a perfect composition, brilliantly presented in deep sepia. Thank you.

Hello Denis, A very unique shot of this team of horses pulling this wagon loaded with seaweed. I grew up on a farm many years ago and we used horses for much of our farm work, but I have never seen three horses hitched up like this. Most unusual. I like your showing this in sepia, it gives an aged effect and reminds me of old pictures from long ago. Kindest Regards, Roger

It really looks like an old photograph, not only for the sepia, but just for this cart which is really rare to see in Europe nowadays. It's an interesting document and a fine photo. I had heard that in Bretagne people used seaweed as bedstead for the cattle, so I guess they are gathering it for that purpose. No surprise about the three horses: it takes a lot of work to pull this heavy cart on the sand.

Donato

Hi Denis,
Superb photo-job and post-editing. This could very well been a picture taken 100 years ago. A really fine composition that shows that a picture taken from behind might be the best perspective. TFS and have a nice weekend!

Bonsoir Denis,
Your choice of B&W emphasizes the old time feeling of this scene. Interesting to see a farm still farmed with horses; Larry's grandfather farmed his land with horse until he died in the 1960's,
