Photographer's Note

The Phare d'Eckmuhl (Eckmuhl's lighthouse) is a 213 ft high lighthouse found in the small village of Penmarch built in 1890 by the Marquise of Blocqueville, who dedicated it to her father, the general Louis Nicolas Davout, who was the prince of Eckmühl.

It was finished and inaugurated in 1897. It is 65 meters long and has a climb of 307 steps to the light. It can be seen from 49 nautical miles and still functions.

Une excellente composition de ce phare placé sur la gauche sous ce ciel nuageux. Ton POV bas permet de l'intérêt au premier plan - j'aime bien les coleurs et textures du premier plan. Une belle image.

Its a good composition with the rocks and water giving a good foreground,however I think the exposure needs dropping substantially to make the colours more dramatic and get rid of the over exposure in the white houses.

Bonsoir Peter,
Nous sommes bien en Bretagne avec ces maisons aux façades blanches et toitures couvertes d'ardoises.
Le cadrage depuis les rochers à marée basse est très bon puisqu'il nous permet d'apprécier ce phare du dix-neuvième siècle qui a dû sauver nombreux marins. Je suppose que le phare fontionne électroniquement maintenant.
Très belle composition.

Jolie phare, comparé à celui qui est à coté de chez moi c'est de la gnognotte :-) rouge sans forme. Bien vu avec la falaise comme premier plan.
