Photographer's Note

An other shot of Celtic Nations Parade last sunday at the Interceltic Festival of Lorient in the south of Brittany. Dancing in groups is a major element of traditional culture of Brittany. A lot of dancers dance in circles, groups of dancers that make traditional dances shows. Actually the women on the picture are members of the Kerlenn Pondi circle, a circle from the small city of Pontivy in the center of the Morbihan department. Moreover the circles, a lot of dance addicts dance every week end in festoù noz, the plural for fest noz. A fest noz ("night festival" in breton language) is a traditional breton festival with dancing in groups and live musicians playing traditional music with acoustic instruments. They attract people of every age. The fest-noz was recently added by the Unesco to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. You can see a lot of circles dancing on the Celtic Nations Parade in Lorient festival. They are dressed with their traditional costumes and hats. But I will talk you about this an other time !
