Photographer's Note

The town Essé is known for its famous megalithic site, a covered walkway dolmen, traditionally called the Roche-aux-Fees. The community of communes belongs Esse bears that name today.

The village owes its name to the Gallic god Esus.

In the Middle Ages, the lords of Loroux were entitled to justice.
