Photographer's Note

The Norvegian fullrigger Sørlandet moored in front of the walls of Brest's castle, during the tall ships' meeting of Brest 1992. This is going to be my home for the next two weeks, for Brest to Christiansand in Norway...
Sorry for the grey sky, but rain is rather frequent in Brest, the greatest French military harbour on the Atlantic (also a medium civilian one), a very large natural bay closed by a narrow passage (and as consequence very easy to defend against the English fleet, the traditional ennemy of the French people for quite a long time, starting from the 100 years War and nly ending at the beginning of the 20th century with the "Entente Cordiale"...).
