Photographer's Note

A view on Our Lady of Béquerel chapel in Le Bono. To go the chapel you have to drive to a car park from the centre of Plougoumelen village. Then you walk a few minutes in the woods and you reach the chapel in a clearing on the banks of Kervilio banks. The chapel you can see today was built in 16th century in place of a former chapel built in 14th century. It was built on a spring that still rises today one meter under the altar. The spring brings water to a fountain at the back of the chapel. It is said the spring cures mouth disease, including tattletales ! Pilgrims came here too to receive news about of people away or to find the body of disappeared seamen. The chapel, the enclosure and the fountains are filed as historical monuments from 1925.
