Photographer's Note

The tomb of the Post-Impressionist painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (24 November 1864 – 9 September 1901), which lies in the churchyard in the village of Verdelais, Gironde.

Verdelais is located a few kilometres from his mother's home, the Château of Malromé, where he died shortly before his 37th birthday.

He is buried alongside his mother and his beloved nounou or nursemaid, both of whom survived him by many years.
