Photographer's Note

The Bird Park of Villars-les-Dombes is very proud of its collection, which includes birds from 18 of the 25 bird orders found in the world, making it the biggest collection in France by far and one of the most diverse in Europe.
Parc des Oiseaux is committed to raising awareness about the need to protect and save threatened and endangered species and their habitats all over the planet.
The lorikeets you can see at the new aviary are Rainbow lorikeets. They live in the wooded prairies, mangroves and tropical forest of North, East and South East Australia. lorikeets mostly feed on nectar and pollen.

In this space of 700m over 300 loris relish the nectar provided by visitors with cups of food. The bravest birds come to rest on your arms, and the most timid watching you from the corner of the eye.
