Photographer's Note

Detail shot from the Mairie of Sablières.
How I love those brave, small villages...

The village of Sablières in the Eastern Cevennes (les Cévennes Vivaroises) was a thriving village with almost 2000 inhabitants in the middle of the 19th century, now there are only 146 inhabitants left and the nearest bakery is a 40 minute drive away.

A wonderful little place to hide away for visitors and temporary inhabitants, a hard place for the locals. But beautiful for both.
