la tour Perret, 80 m de hautr, seul vestige de l’exposition universelle de la houille blanche et du tourisme organisée en 1925 domine le parc Paul Mistral, poumon de l'aglomération grenobloise.
ce matin 07h00 un gros orage gronde sur Grenoble.
la silhouette de la Tour Perret se détache dans la nuit sous l effet du flash. on y devine les balcons de Belledone.
photo réalisée sans tripode ( APN calé sur fenetre)

I have tried to shoot lightning bolts a couple of times and I know how diffciult it is which is why I must appreciate this shot. Alain you did a fine job here. How many shots did you take till you got this one?

Extraordinary. I like the blue colour and the shape of the lightning. An early morning thunderstorm? I'm more used to thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening.

how lucky you were! I tried once too, but guess I dindn't have enough patience; furthermore your have a nice landmark too (your tower) to make the image complete. Bravo!

This is incredible! The strange shape of the lightning! The photograph is very nicely done. I like the sihouette of the tower very much here.

Cet eclair entre les nuages est très impressionnant. Je me demandais combien il fallait de prises ratées (heureusement qu'il y a le numérique) pour en arriver là, et je viens de lire...près d'une 100aine !
Ca en fait du temps sur le bord de la fenêtre :)
Vraiment bien joué.

Fantastic composition and colors. Only the resolution suffers. There is "atari" digitization along the tower and the in the sky. Otherwise, very nice stuff.

Si seulement on pouvait capter toute cette énergie .. cela nous éviterait peut-etre d'aller frotter nos guêres dans les déserts hostiles et de ne plus polluer aussi

Je me rappelle avoir photographié du ciel bleu électrique mais sans les éclairs pendant une soirée de juillet... Ici, tu as réussi à avoir cet exemplaire impressionant et bien cadré avec le clocher... Bien vu et bravo pour la patience!

on dirait le dessin d'un vélo si tu regardes bien sur la droite ...rire...encore une photo explosante de flash ...l'éclair est superbement bien pris...les couleurs sont bien rendu...il a du claqué celui-là...grrr...bien vu et bien capté...faut de la patiente effectivement...amicalement BI

Au fait,tu as de la chance d'avoir un boulot qui te permette de t'eclipser pour faire 100 photos ! (humour)

There are quite a few shots of lightning here and elsewhere and they are invariably eyecatching, but you have composed here an exceptional one of that type with the sharp silhouette of the tower and the misty outline of the hills shading into the midnight blue of the sky. Superbe photo d'eclair. Toutes celles que j'ai pu faire sont très loin de la qualite de celle-ci. L'image est d'une proprete incroyable, les niveaux de montagne se detachent bien. Une tres belle reussite.

Wow, I just spotted this in your randoms, Alain - what an imporessive image this is. One of the best lightning shots that I have seen on TE for a while - something that I have never been able to successfully capture myself. Not only have you 'frozen' a very unusually shaped strike, but the image as a whole is very well composed and perfectly exposed for the background too. Cheers . . . David

With a name like mine, how could I resist a comment? I love the blue, low-key atmosphere of this shot, and as has been said before, I know how difficult it is to shoot lightning bolts. The composition too is spot-on, with the tower placed in the classic position. Good work.
