Photographer's Note

Chamonix has a reputation for adrenalin fueled skiing and for expert skiers the challenging long steep descent from the top of Les Grands Montets, from 3275m to 2000m, is world-class skiing. Start from the top of the highest cable car to access the Pylones run and view the Alps across the Argentiere glacier.

Chamonix is famous for the Vallee Blanche, an off-piste adventure on a deeply crevassed glacier, the Mer de Glace. Skiers descend the mountain onto the glacier and in parts will need to be tethered, especially areas where snow bridges may not yet be stable. The cracks and crevasses form as the 200m thick glacier descends the sub-terrain, which in parts falls sharply and steeply. You will ski past forests of ice towers or seracs.
