Photographer's Note

The top station of the cable car to the summit of the Aiguille du Midi. In the valley of Chamonix was sunny summer weather and the peak was covered with a thick fog. This is a horror for a photographer, as you can see you do not see anything.
In WS I posted two photos from this travel to the Aiguille du Midi.

The Aiguille du Midi (3842 m a.s.l.) is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps. It is a very popular tourist destination, half a million tourist a year come close to Mont Blanc to see this highest summit of Europe.

The cable car runs since 1955, it still holds the record as the highest cable car in the world, from 1035 m to 3842 m.
There are two sections: from Chamonix to the Plan de l'Aiguille at 2317 m and then directly, without any support pillar, to the upper station at 3802 m. To the terrace over the top station of the cable car you can go by elevator (40 m) inside the mountain.
