Photographer's Note

I have been invited in june 2008 to assist at the fitting of new propellers for the nuclear aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle
Within the framework of "IPER" (periodic indisponiblity for maintenance and repairs)
of the carry-planes. These new propellers are American manufacture.
Each one weighs twenty tons, 6 meters diameter, they are made of copper alloy,
steel and other metals like manganese or nickel.
They were manufactured by Rolls-Royce in the Mississippi and delivered to Toulon, in February 2005.
