Photographer's Note

Fine lavender at Lake Pont-Baldy near Briançon (approximately 1400m of altitude).

Lavender is a plant of the Mediterranean areas. We find fine lavender mainly in the dry mountains beyond 800m above sea level. This is that species that produces the most subtle fragrance.

A nice walk around the lake with turquoise waters. The path overlooks the lake snaking in between trees, an appreciable shade under high heat. Several views with picnic table have been set up along the way.
