Photographer's Note
Statue of France by Bourdelle
The statue, monumental, is in the top of the fort of the Castle, which dominates the old city.
This statue should never have been there. In fact it was intended to decorate a beach of Normandy in remembering the 1st world war.
The project was never finalized and the statue was garaged in the attic of the Ministry for Arts. The mayor of Briançon of the time, which was a Minister for Arts, made it leave the lapse of memory by installing it at the top of the citadel.
