Photographer's Note

Après la tempête - After the storm

When you plan a journey and along your road you have to cross the Alps, and the day before leaving it is cloudy, windy, and it rains, you may believe you’ll have to delay the departure because it is storming on the mountains, and surely mountain passes are now difficoults.
But when you decide to leave anyway because you know a little bit Mother Nature, and you reach the Alps, you finally see that the weather has been really kind with you: the clouds which were rainy in the plains were full of snow on the mountains, and the wind pulled them apart during the night, so the result is always worth the choice to leave anyway.

Here the Montgenèvre is done, and I am driving downward to Briançon, I am totally astounded by such a calmness in the wood and on the mountain, together with that pleasure that the fresh snow on the trees can give.
