Photographer's Note

As to make you regret not staying longer or even live here, the Pic du Midi is presented to you in the distance ... just before taking the motorway to Toulouse.

The Pyrenees are a mountain range in southwestern Europe. They extend lengthwise along an east-west for a distance of approximately 430 km from the Mediterranean Sea (Cap de Creus) to the Bay of Biscay (Cap Higuer). Peaking at 3404 meters altitude Aneto, the Pyrenees form a real geographical barrier separating the Iberian Peninsula south of the rest of continental Europe to the north. They form a natural border between Spain and France and also home to Andorra.

The Pyrenees crosses three regions and six French departments: from east to west the Languedoc-Roussillon (Pyrénées-Orientales and Aude), Midi-Pyrénées (Ariège, Haute-Garonne and Hautes-Pyrénées) and Aquitaine (Pyrénées-Atlantiques ). Spanish side, it passes through four autonomous communities and seven provinces of Spain: from east to west Catalonia (Girona, Barcelona and Lleida), Aragon (Huesca and Zaragoza), Navarre (consisting of a single province of community same name) and the Basque Autonomous Community (Guipúzcoa).

Three great hiking trails through the western Pyrenees is: GR 10 French side, the GR 11 Spanish side and the High Pyrenees hiking.

This panorama is composed of three shots and I applied a filter effect.
