On Causse of Larzac, a medieval village built at the 12th century by the Knights of the order of the Temple, in a strengthened enclosure built with the
15e century by the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. The templiers, then the Hospital ones in
1312, practised the culture and the breeding there, providing provisioning for the war.

Knights of the Order of the Temple, Templiers.
In 1119, Hugues de Payns, knight originating in Champagne, melt a militia which will become the "Knights of the Order of the Temple". Monks, knights, monks and soldiers, Templiers will defend Jerusalem, and the pilgrims going on the tomb of Christ.
In 1312, the order is dissolved, and after a lawsuit, the large Master Jacques de Molay and other Templiers are sharp flarings on roughing-hew it.

Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem
Before the first crusade, a hospital is founded in Jerusalem close of the Holy Sepulchre for the Western pilgrims, other Hospitals are create in the wearing of loading Italian and Provencaux. In 1113, the Hospital of Midsummer's Day of Jerusalem is recognized like an independent hospital order.
In 1140, the Order of the Hospital becomes in military order, with néanmmoins vocation of charity and defenders of Christendom.
In 1291, following the fall of Saint-Jean-d'Acre, the Knights Templar are folded up in Cyprus, then in Rhodos.
In 1312, the goods of Templiers, after their dissolution, are allotted to the Hospital ones.
In 1522, Turkish takes Rhodos.
In 1530, the emperor Charles Quint allots Malta to the Hospital ones. They since are called Sovereign Military Order of Malta or Knights of Malta .

Hello Joel,
Very good use of this interesting shaped window as a natural frame onto the turret. The detail and tones in the stone are well captured and make a good contrast with the patch of blue sky.

Une bonne façon de présenter ces vielles et nobles pierres en jouant avec l'actualité puisque paraît-il un document retrouvé dans la bibliothèque du Vatican prouverait que les templiers ont été pardonné par le pape. Près de 800 ans plus tard, ils ont laissé de sacrés restes!!

Bonjour Joël

Voilà exactement le genre de photo dont je suis fan !
La texture de la pierre est superbement bien rendue et utiliser cette meurtrière (?) pour présenter la tour crée l'originalité.
Quant à la gestion de la lumière, supberbe.
Bravo pour le travail.

Salut Joël,
good view through this window on the part of the tower and some nice blue sky. The shadow tells us about the strong light and the texture of the wall is good.

Celle-ci vaut plus que la somme des éléments la composant, je trouve.
Il y a ce quelque chose en plus, qui fait que j'aime la regarder, sans pouvoir clairement expliquer pourquoi, un équilibre général sans doute,

J'avais oublié cette jolie lucarne qui sert de beau cadre pour les détails de la tour et laisse deviner la belle lumière qui était présente à ce moment.Du bon ouvrage comme tu as l'habitude de nous le présenter.

J'aime bien celle ci, cette fenetre offrait un cadre de premiere classe pour mettre en valeur le detail de la tour et tu ne l'as pas loupee, bien vu, les contrastes et couleurs sont aussi top sur cette image.

Excellent POV de cette encadrement de fenêtre ancienne. Les sculptures de la pierre décorée de lichen jaune, sont du plus bel effet! Quant au clin d'oeil à la tour ornée de mâchicoulis, il est superbe avec ce beau ciel bleu en toile de fond.

Je suis tombé par hasard sur cette photo. La composition est excellente et le cadre fait par la fenêtre une bonne idée. Le rendu des vielles pierres couvertes de lichens est parfait.
