Photographer's Note

The municipal theater of Castres in the Tarn seen the garden of the former bishopric, the picture is taken in the evening light, at a time when the sun stretches shadows of the garden.

Castres theater was built in the early twentieth century in terms of a Galinier Joseph, a student of architect Garnier Toulouse. In the Italian rococo style, the exterior decoration is a mixture of original borrowing past century and references the decorative language of his time. The interior layout shows that the comic opera of Paris. It was opened 17 April 1904.

The garden of the former bishopric facing him meanwhile was designed by André Le Notre in the tradition of French classicism of the 17th century.
It is a garden "French" whose overall composition and design of its embroidery crossed three centuries without being fundamentally altered.
