Mist over the lake ...., a photo from Midi-Pyrenees, South

Photographer's Note

Lac du Merle located in the Sidobre (Tarn) is a place that I like , I like to stroll through all time, in any season . It is never the same . Covered with mist, it becomes mysterious, incites reverie and makes the soul poet , he reminded me of that wonderful poem by Victor Hugo :

When the moon appears in the mist of the plains,
When the shadow moved seems to find his voice,
When evening filled with thrills and breath
The pale shadows of the woods,

When the beef comes with its bell sound ,
Like the old poet , overwhelmed, sad and beautiful ,
Whose thought the bottom of the shade still tinkles
Before the door of the tomb ;

If you want, we will roam the valleys ,
We walk in the grass not silent,
And we will look at the starry vaults.
It is in the field you see the sky.

We walk through the green countryside ;
Will look , crying that vanishes
Our souls down here by the open misfortune
On flowers that open at night!

We speak softly infinite things .
Everything is great , everything is sweet, though all is dark .
We open our hearts to the dark harmonies
Falling from the deep blue.

This is the time when the sun shines , where women radiate .
Wave your beauty and light dazzle my eyes.
Dreamers, we mêlerons disorder of our souls
In the serenity of heaven.

Hi Magaly,
This is really a very good picture! An amazing mood here, peaceful and quiet with beautiful reflections of the reed in the absolute perfect mirror of water. Very soft and subdued colours. The foreground tree adds a good graphical pattern. Excellent!

Une image pas facile à réaliser, sans tomber dans la "mornitude" !
J'aime bien ici comme on passe des branchages sombres dans le coin droit, puis à plus ce clarté et couleurs avec ces longues herbes dans leurs couleurs d'automne, et enfin dans la brume
Bravo, beaucoup d'esthétisme et d'élégance dans cette image

Tu as raison, cette photo est pleine de poésie, très jolie. J'aime particulièrement la discrétion des couleurs qui ressortent de ce paysage d'hiver et murmurent le silence. i love this picture of the mist covered water. your composition is excellent and very poetic, just like your note. the muted and subdued colours are lovely, especially like the brown tones of the reeds to contrast with the monotone nature of the rest of the image.

j'aime l'atmosphère qui se dégage de ta photo, la brume est suffisamment légère pour que l'on aperçoive les arbres au fond à droite mais pas l'horizon, il en ressort une sorte de nostalgie.

This is a very subtle picture with the colours of the reeds just giving some soft colour in the mist. It is well composed with the lake disappearing into the mist in the distance. Beautifully photographed recession from FG to BG.

An apt poem to accompany this imagery, and I couldn't agree more...the mist has created quite a mysterious atmosphere, I love it! So often it seems we try to photograph too much, and this is a wonderful example of simplicity which conveys a succinct mood. I can virtually hear the quiet calm, a very tranquil scene indeed...dark, but not scary. :) Enjoy the week ahead.

you have got very lovely gallery in here. I like this picture very much - there is romantic and mysterious atmosphere about it and the composition is light and simple. The reflection on the water makes the image more interesting and the brighter tone of the reeds add some color.

Bonjour Magaly,

Tu as réalisé une très belle prise de vue ici.Les couleurs ont été unifiées par le brouillard,ce qui donne des tons peu contrastés ,très doux et en parfaite harmonie.Les roseaux au centre apportent une touche un peu plus chaude dans un ensemble aux couleurs froides ,bien en rapport avec la saison.
C'est une image toute en atmosphère, ambiance mysterieuse et propice à la rêverie,à la méditation.
La mise en page est parfaite.

Beautiful and photo, what you have capture here is pure mood of the cool misty morning, it depict the foggy condition very well, it makes it feel like I was there myself. Love how the tree slow faded back in the misty air.

C'est très beau,c'est velouté avec cette brume.Ce brouillard évoque un sentiment de fraîcheur qui est parfaitement compensé par cette touche de végétation aux teintes chaudes.C'est image apaisante.Rien ici ne vient perturber mon regard.Cette image est un bon médicament pour se détendre.
