The Sainte-Marie cathedral, Auch

At Auch in the historical center, the SAINTE-MARIE CATHEDRAL 15th 17th centuries. Classified as historical monuments since 1906.

Its construction began in 1489, lasted two centuries, which explains its architecture that combines Gothic style and Renaissance style of its facade. Its dimensions are impressive: Approximately 100 meters long and 40 meters wide, and two towers of 44 meters. Its three naves contain 21 chapels, 18 remarkable stainglass and 115 stalls decorated with biblical scenes.

AUCH is a french municipality, located in the department of the Gers of the Midi-Pyrénées region, populated 21792 Auscitains en 2009, distributed out of 72.5 km², that is to say 300.7 hab./km².

The city of Auch, on banks of the GERS, is considered the capital of the former province of la Gascogne.

_ The GERS has its source in the PLATEAU DE LANNEMEZAN, in the Hautes-Pyrenees department and, after 175.6 km course through a watershed of 1230 km², flows into the LA GARONNE river at Layrac in the department of Lot-et-Garonne. Description of the Gers.
