Une vue partielle des remparts de Villefranche-de-Conflent, avec les hautes falaises calcaires en arrière-plan .
Cette cité médiévale qui barre la route de la Cerdagne a été fortifiée au 17ème siècle par Vauban . Elle est classée au Patrimoine Mondial de l'UNESCO , et fait partie des "Plus Beaux Villages de France" .

Magnificent picture of the fortified edifices built upon the cliff, Denis.
The colors of the stones and bricks it was built from, matching the tones we see on the rocks behind.

Salut Denis,
Intéressante et impressionnantes fortifications au pied de cette falaise rocheuse. Les constructions forment une diagonale sur l'image, j'apprécie aussi la tonalité pierre des rochers et des murs, belle luminosité qui réchauffe l'atmosphère.

Bonjour Denis,
Des murs et tours défensifs impressionnants.
La falaise presque verticale derrière les murs est encore plus impressionnante.
Je pense qu'il pourrait y avoir plus de danger d'en haut à cause de la chute de rochers.
Le drapeau rouge-jaune au milieu ajoute des couleurs supplémentaires.

Bonjour Denis,

A fine composition, where you have emphasised the tall, vertical appearance of the walls by almost merging them with the sheer, natural, rocky faces.
The light is very important, the colours seeming almost co-ordinated!

Bonjour Denis, we have had many holidays in France but unfortunately we have never seen this part.
I like the tight framing that concentrates our eyes on the man made structures. An astonishing build.

I like how this castle is basically built directly onto the cliff walls. How cool is that. How did they construct such buildings, and even back then without the available technology of today. Its amazing. Very cool indeed. great post for us to view. cheers
