Sete is a French commune of the department of Herault and Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 43 400 Sétois and Sétoises distributed on 24 km², is 1792 hab/km². It is the town of artists like Paul Valéry, George Brassens, Manitas de Plata, Jean Vilar, the brothers Di Rosa.

It is the 1st fishing port of the French Mediterranean. Fishing setoise is made of artisanal flotillas, made up of family armaments. Fishing is day labourer (left the boats 3 hours, return towards 16-18 hours), during 220-230 days of fishing per annum, for an average tonnage of 8 000 to 10 000 tons (2/3 blue fish, 1/3 white fish). The setoise fleet includes:
- 34 general-purpose trawlers from 18 to 25 meters.
- 17 tuna boats senneurs from 25 to 45 meters.
- about thirty small boats practising traditional fishing.
- the production of oysters and moulds is mainly concentrated on banks of Pond of Thau.

Hi Joel,
I like this "marine theme" photo, where you can actually hear the seagulls and feel the strong wind. We spent some days at Sete some years ago and enjoyed the seafood very much!

Un joli cliché plein de vie et de mouvement avec les mouettes qui suivent le bâteau de pèche à la trace en espérant pouvoir se mettre quelque chose "sous la dent".

Super moment et prise. Ce n'etait pas le temps des plages, mais en janvier on ne rate pas l'occasion pour les photos. Au moins tu es vigilant pour nous tous. Encore merci, Joel, et passe un tres beau ete dans des endroits comme celui-ci.

Hi Joel.
This is a really nice nautical shot, with perfect lighting and good sharp capture of the birds, despite a shutter speed not that fast. The boat is at a pleasing angle, and the details are so clear. You have captured the colours and light perfectly. Without the birds, of course, it would be just another snap. But in reality it is a dyanamic shot with great sense of movement.

Il me semble que tu as posté un image similaire il y à quelques mois. Ici, j'aime bien ces volatiles affamés ainsi que la couleur globale du cliché qui est très sobre.

S'il existe un rapport entre le nombre d'oiseau et la quantité de poisson la pêche a du être particulièrement bonne !!!
Tu classes cette publication dans les catégories Nature et Transports mais ne serait-ce pas tout simplement la Vie quotidienne ?
Ta composition est superbe et très réaliste ; c'est bien vu et surtout bien restitué.

C'est le genre d'image qui ne peut que me toucher, tu t'en doute bien et ici, il ne manque qu'une chose c'est de pouvoir entendre le cri des goélands qui très souvent arrive même à couvrir le bruits des moteurs.
Une belle lumière pour cette bonne réalisation!!

Tout d'abord mes félicitations pour tes 400 images, et puis, je choisis quand même ce bateau de pêcheurs car j'ai passé toute mes vacances d'enfant au Grau d'Agde. C'est près de Sète comme tu le sais. Le balais des mouettes donne beaucoup de charme à l'image.

c'est toujours un spectacle saisissant de voir les bateaux revenant de la peche suivient par un vol de mouettes.

comme disait E.Cantona : Quand les mouettes suivent un chalutier, c'est qu'elles pensent qu'on va leur jeter des sardines.

Très belle prise de vue sur ce bateau de pêche attaqué par les goelands. As-tu utilisé un zoom avec tripod?
Dans tous les cas, c'est bien net!
Je me demande quelle impression ça doit faire d'être dans un bateau ainsi envahi? Enfin, les pêcheurs eux doivent en avoir l'habitude!
Un très bon dimanche sous le soleil méditerranéen! Ici en Bretagne, il semble s'être décidé à sortir après nous avoir boudé depuis le mois de juillet!
