This Theatre was created in 1960 in fortress Saint-Pierre built by Vauban from 1710 to 1711.

Jean Vilar, actor, director, director of theatre, were born in Sète on March 12, 1912 and are deceased on May 28, 1971. It is buried in th "Cimetière Marin", Marine Cemetery, of Sète.

Sete is a French commune of the department of Herault and Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 43 400 Sétois and Sétoises distributed on 24 km², is 1792 hab/km². It is the town of artists like Paul Valéry, George Brassens, Manitas de Plata, Jean Vilar, the brothers Di Rosa.
