Mole Saint-Louis built in 1666 and the "Vieux Bassin".

In 1666 Pierre-Paul Riquet, who built the "Canal du Midi" connecting the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, creates the port of "Cette".

Sète is a town of 40000 inhabitants to 30 km of Montpellier, to narrow enters the sea Méditerranée and the pond of Thau. It bore the name of Cette until 1928. Since 1666 until now a succession of great work have made it the 11th wearing of France. It is also the 1st port of fish of Méditerranean.
