Photographer's Note

Passing the ruins of an old stone wall, In St Guilhem le desert, here is the "abbaye de Gellone".
The building of this roman church and monastery started during the IXth century. Gellone abbey is known for containing a famous relic: a piece of wood that believers think it's a part of the Christ cross received by Guilhem, duc d'Aquitaine, from the king Charlemagne before he founded the city.
