On left bank of the coastal river Lez, to the place says "the Quatre Canaux", crossing with the channel of the Rhône to Sète.

The Lez is a coastal river of 30 km which run in the French department of Herault, while passing by Montpellier, and are thrown in the Mediterranean, to Palavas-les-Flots.

The canal of Rhône river to Sète, goes from the Rhône river, in Beaucaire, to the pond of thau, in Sète. Completed in 1811, it is the prolongation of the Canal du Midi, builds from 1667 to 1681, which connects Toulouse to Sète. This channel crosses the brackish water ponds, along the Mediterranean in the south of the area of Montpellier then the wet plains of the Small Camargue where it crosses the towns of Acute-Dead and of Saint-Gilles-of-Gard.

Palavas-les-Flots is a French commune of the department of Herault, Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 5421 "Palavasiens" distributed on 2,4 km² is 2 278 hab./km².

Palavas-les-Flots is a seaside resort located at 12 km from the center of Montpellier, on the Gulf of Lion and Mediterranean. Its emerged territory is composed of dune cords separating two ponds and the sea. The principal agglomeration is with the outlet of the channel which connects the coastal river Lez to the sea. It is one of the principal seaside resorts attended by Montpelliérains and Héraultais of the back-country.
