Photographer's Note

The City of Carcassonne is a medieval architectural unit which is in the French city of Carcassonne in the department of the Aude. She is located on right bank of the Aude, in the south-east of the current city. Constituted since the Gallo-Roman period, the city is a strengthened city which comprises a castle (the castle comtal) and a basilica (the Saint-Nazaire basilica). The City of Carcassonne is classified with the world inheritance of UNESCO since 1997. The castle comtal, the fortifications, the lices1 and the turns belong to the State and are managed by the monuments historiques2, while the remainder of the City forms part of the municipal field

This is a great view of this magnificent castle. Your POV makes the castle even more dominating. Your composition is great including the trees and pathway in the foreground. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and detail.

Hi Cedric, this is an impressive shot of this imposing castle. Grey and austere, and the greyish sky adds to the mood of the image. It would be interesting to see a view from a more elevated position, as your POV is a bit low here, but of course that's beyond your control. Great shot anyway.
