Photographer's Note

CALENZANA is very rich in history and architecture.
In the village centre, you could see the church SAINTE-BLAISE.
By mislaying you on the road leading to ZILIA, you will be able to appreciate chapelle SANTA-RESTITUTA (SAINTE RESTITUDE) of XVIème century which shades the relics of SANTA-Restituta saint of BALAGNA since a decision of Jean-Paul II in 1984.
Another curiosity that its capitol erected for the burial of 500 German mercenaries. They had been recruited by Genoese to help them to defend Corsica and this battle field will become their burial in 1732.
The restored church is surrounded by secular olive-trees, such as that on its left.
In WS, you can see the portal to reach the church.
