Photographer's Note

The defile of Scala di Santa Regina is the only access road (RD 84) to the micro region of NIOLO since the Centre of the island. It is a very long afflicted, hostile ravine, wild, dug in red granite rock.
Its name comes from the staircases (scala) which seem cut in the rock of left bank of the GOLO, that Niolins (inhabitants of the NIOLO) formerly take since PONTE CASTIRLA to reach CALACUCCIA.
This defile is in the Regional Natural reserve of CORSICA.

First class composition. Very dynamic view taken from superb perspective to show us both red rocks, ravine of the river and road. Well, in fact this is Corsica of my imagination.

Salut Pierre...la magnifique route entre Bastia et la côte ouest..que j'adore...généralement je m'arrete directement après Calacuccia pour me baigner dans le torrent..une merveille! Merci pour le partage.. Léonie

c moi, ou je vois un voile sur cette photo???
la prise est parfaite, car tyu as su trouver l'ensoleillement adéquate (ce qui est tres difficile ici) surement vers 11h-12h..

Bonsoir Pierre,
Un paysage remarquable, j'aime beaucoup ce peu de verdure qui vient contraster avec cette roche.
La route apporte de la profondeur, le tout très bien cadré!
