Place de la Concorde

After Place de l'Étoile in my last upload, here's another photo from a large and well-known square in Paris: Place de la Concorde. The photo was taken in the late afternoon on the first day of our visit to Paris.

Place de la Concorde is probably most famous for the obelisk in the centre of the square. It's located at the eastern end of the Champs-Elysées and the western end of the Jardin des Tuileries. This view is in northern direction towards the Rue Royale, behind the fountain, which runs between Place de la Madeleine (with l'Église de la Madeleine, Church of the Madeleine) and Place de la Concorde. The building on the left hand side is Hôtel de Crillon, in the building to the right the French Naval Ministry is located.

Hope you like this next picture from Paris and thanks for your visit! :-)
