Photographer's Note
At the Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade of Paris on Saturday 30, June.
At Place de la Bastille, a very symbolic place of freedom and revolution, people had gathered at the end of the Parade for an open-air giant free concert.
The title is inspired by a major event of the French Revolution and could be translated by "Storming la Bastille". La Bastille was a prison before July 14, 1789, main date of the French Revolution.

happiness, yes, proud and happy!
I like this white background, their pose... specially the one of the black man : )
Great capture with dynamism!

Un peu iconoclaste, mais pourquoi pas ?
Le titre est bien trouvé,

Hola Sylvie:
This one is very good. The composition in a triangle shape, the sky all white giving all the importance to the group. Even the little head in the distance gives a touch that I like. Beside I like the attitude of the man in the photo. Very good, now let´s wait for the Rumanian opinion, I look foreward to it :-)

salut Sylvie

Hi Silvie,
I like this upside view very much, another great testimony of the celebrations. Very well chosen title. Merci!

Bonsoir Sylvie,

Bravo.
Grazyna.

Ciao Sylvie!!
I see this group of people like a sculpture, perhaps because of the low pov. They are "frozen" in their movement!! And they are inside a geometrical shape.
I love most the little one low right, that seems out of the composition!!!
A great picture, really!
Ciao!

Hi Sylvie,
the composition of the people and your point of view remind me somehow on a heroic painting (perhaps even on one about the "Prise de la Bastille" - I´m not quite sure). Anyway, it fits very well. How did you manage the white background? Was it that white or did you work on it afterwards?

I like the symbolism that you have drawn between this image and a important event in history. But regardless of all that I think this image in itself is a superb example of what you can do with your camera Syl. It has an air of non-chalance and a carefree attitude. I like it.

Hello Sylvie. Another great picture. The triangular Point of View with the primary focus on the good-looking guy. The crisp but not garish colours stand out well against the white background. I also like the yellow cap of the black fellow because after the eye lingers on the centre subject it is drawn to the yellow to move further down to complete the triangle.
I'm not sure if the head at the bottom right adds or distracts. On the one hand it seems pointless to have this disembodied head there, but then again, it does anchor the triangle of people and indicates that there is more to see.
Either way, a very good composition.
cheers,
Irmgard
