Cycling perspective, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

Cette perspective m'a paru intéressante lorsque je l'ai découverte sous ce pont du 13° arrondissement de Paris ... J'ai attendu qq secondes qu'un vélo passe histoire de venir égayer la composition :)
Je ne suis pas un spécialiste du noir et blanc donc vos suggestions sont les bienvenues

I found this perspective interesting when i discovered it in the 13° arrondissment of Paris ... then just wait some seconds that a cycling woman come in order to enhance a little bit the whole composition :)
I'm not a BW specialist so i'm free and open to your critics and tips

elle est magnifique cette photo : bien joué d'avoir centré cette perspective cela l'accentue énormément. Ensuite la position du cycliste est très bien vue : juste à côté de la signalisation, à gauche de la photo, à l'opposé de la lumière : bref, ce vélo vient casser le côté symétrique. Enfin le n&b et super bien vu. J'aime beaucoup le plafond noir qui donne beaucoup de contraste. Bref, c'est une photo très belle. Bravo !

Excellent perspective with those long lines and columns converging to a point in the center. I really enjoy the picture. The composition is very good and the B&W is superb. Well done.

hello Sebastien, pour un non specialiste du noir et blanc. tu ne te debrouilles pas mal du tout..j aime beucoup cette composition a la verticale, tres chouette
je ne peux poster probleme avec wanadoo, impossible de charger des photos..

Excellent,
pas spécialiste du nb peut-être mais tu as su voir que les piliers formaient un sujet riche et qui se prêteat à merveille au nb.

Nice excercise on central perspective. The two humans are well placed to break the symmetry. The light also breaks the symmetry in a fine way.

Très belle composition appuyée par la perspective. Tu as bien d'attendre le passage d'un cycliste. Je pense qu'il s'agit du métro aérien, mais je ne suis pas sûr.
C'est une photo réussie, nette et au bon contraste.

Salut encore une fois
En noir et blanc l'essentiel est que les contrastes doivent être variés par la présence de l'échelle complète des gris en passant graduellement du blanc vers le noir, c'est le cas ici.
La composition est parfaite, l'image n'est pas du tout matte.
J'aime bien.

Sacre perspective. Les piliers et le plafond noir qui se'n va a l'infini y contribuent un max. J'aime aussi la texture de la chaussee toute en lignes on dirait qui accntu encore l'effet. Bien vu,

La perspective n'est pas seulement intéressante, je la trouve fascinante.
Il y a un bon impact visuel, le toit sombre notamment attire vraiment l'oeil.
Bravo, c'est une jolie photo.

Pas mal ce petit noir et blanc.....la composition est impeccable et ce "plafond" noir donne un aspect un peu inquiétant à ces arches qui semblent émerger du fin fond de la nuit.

Salut Seb,
tu nous sors une sacrée série depuis quelques semaines, ici c'est réellement très bon, on se sent irrésistiblement attiré et rien que cela c'est excellent. Ensuite ta composition est tellement bien pensée qu'il n'y a pas grand chose à dire.
Bravo et continue 2007 sur cette voie, tu vas faire des malheurs et pense à changer ta page d'intro, tu n'es plus un débutant !!! ;)

on te vois un peu moins souvent, mais chacune de tes nouvelles photos est une reussite, le n&b est parfait avec cette longue perspective et la repetition des piliers,la rencontre des 2 velos au premier plan est bien vu aussi.

Great, great shot! Fantastic depth, placement of the elements, tones and graphism created by the succession of pillars to the infinity.
This young lady and the bycicle draws on the ground are the needed complement to a great shot.

Hi Seb - brilliant symmetry, the cyclist adds life, and finally the inclusion of the painted bicicle icons at the bottom was a wonderful idea.

A very strong composition Sebastien, with a superb use of the converging lines of the cyclepath, framed by the archways on either side. I also like the way you used the painted symbols to fill the foreground. They work with the converging lines to give a real sense of depth to the image.
It would be interesting to see how this look with a bit of motion blur in the cyclist. At the moment she's a bit static.
This is excellent though, an impressive piece of work.

Hi Seb - the perspective is good, the columns make a repetitive pattern stretching into the distance, the girl then makes a nice point of interest in the shot as well. The B&W conversion works well, good tones & contrast. Is this cycle-path underneath one of the elevated metro lines? It reminds me of the area around Blvd Grenelle & line 6 (15e arondissment) where I stayed last year.

Hi Sebastien, for not being a B&W specialist ytou did very well. Not that I'm a B&W specialist either and my critique might be flawed, but your strong geometric composition is very esthetic.

(Jinjuade d'Origine Controllee) telle que definie par le C.C.E.A.T.P.TE (Comite de Controle des Expressions Artistiques Typiques des Photographes de TE) ;-))

Je connais bien ce pont (près de Bercy, non ?).
Je t'avoues que j'ai déjà eu la meme idée de cadrage mais je n'ai pas eu la patience comme toi d'attendre que des vélos passent et cela changes tout.
En ce qui concerne, sur mon ecran de boulot (non calibré) les noirs me semblent un peu trop noir et les blancs un peu trop blancs mais je regarderais de nouveau à la maison..

Sometmes there are photos. Ones that you look at and you want so much to be yours. And this is such a photo. The way yous et this up with the converging lines of prespective is nothing short of magic. And you were brilliant in anchoring the foreground on those two bicycle on the pavement, and catching 2 bicyclists in the frame..one for each.

Le noir et blanc ici renforce le graphisme d'une excellente photo. J'aime cette perspective immense de cette voie cyclable encadrée ces deux rangées d'arches. Du très beau travail.

Sometimes they say...Go and do that extra effort...Do some extra steps to make your work different, unique from the others.
You did it, Sebastien. You've done that extra job to make it 'THE ' photograph, as opposite to just a 'nice shot'.
Is it something to be proud about...?

The perspective is amazing here. I think that you made the right choice to use black and white for this shot because it emphasises all the great textures and contrasts. A great subject and its good that you had patience to wait for the cyclist.
