Photographer's Note
I'm not that skilled at identifying insects so I hope I'm not saying something silly when discribing it as a bumblebee. It was shot in Paris at the Bercy gardens.
This macro is one acceptable among my many attempts of last summer. I was not aware it took so much patience to be able to focus corrctly on such a flying subject... Landscapes are quite easier to handle for me ! If you have any advice, please do not hesitate because I found this try quite funny.
I just recropped the picture so as to put the insect in a strong node of the picture.

Welcome to the club of macro fans ;-) You've got the head in focus, which is good. But you need a higher F-stop to get the entire bee inside the DOF range, try F-8 or higher, if possible. Bees are tricky customers as they move around a lot and hardly ever sit quite still. For practice targets spiders and hoverflies are much easier. Happy shooting - when the season comes again ;-)

Great macro shot. One of the best on TE. Colors are really nice and so the DOF. It's unusuall to see so many fine details and a complex composition at this scale. Very good.

Gorgeous. Gorgeous. GORGEOUS. The deep pink bloom behind the bee really makes the shot. This is really nice.
