Photographer's Note

Multiples influences.
Between past and present: the Bastille fortress and a district recently characterized as hip and trendy, where cats sometimes get away...
Between two revolutions: 1789 and 1830, kings Louis XVI and Charles X...
Between Nini peau d'chien (Dog skin Nini), who's so sweet and kind, and Jacques Brel singing that no dream is ever worth a war...
Between two dramas, each featuring an emblematic female singer: Pelléas et Mélisande and Elektra, which opened and will close the season at the Bastille opera house...
But, on this particular night out of a thousand and one, when I took this picture, Jean Genêt and David Bowie were nowhere to be seen... ;-)
