Moment of tranquillity despite the fact that on average almost 48 people take the subway each second in Paris and in Ile de France ; this represents 1.479 billion trips per year in the Metro. In other words 4.1 million passengers are transported in the Parisian metro each day.

The numbers of travellers you mention in your note is very impressive and they make the fact you photographed it SSSI empty that but more special. The point of view is perfect, and like so many places that should be busy which are not, there is a slight eeriness to the photo. It reminds me of the movie The Midnight Meat Train. Great photo
